some older goodies.

i was recently over at bob jaques' blog where he posted a line test from a really great old ren and stimpy sequence that he directed on the original series.
it inspired me to go back and find a few scenes that i animated for him and kelly at carbunkle cartoons on the newer APC series that we did back in 2003.
this is a scene from "ren seeks help" that i believe was layed out by Helder if i remember correctly and animated by myself.

a few shots from another project

ive been suffering a severe case of animation inspiration deprivation over the last few days, so instead of working, i decided to post a few stills of a little project that i had been tinkering with a few weeks back.

if anyone has any weird and wonderful ways that they crawl out of an artistic rut, id love to hear em. my inspiration seems to have gone on vacation and ive spent the majority of the last week just staring at the monitor and scratching my head...

i apologize about posting all of these, but this one just sounded cool...

found a nice little quote about cuddlesticks written up by the detroit metro:

Deep thoughts are second to laughs in bits like Sausage Party, The Mosquito that Gave Up Blood and Artie's Day Off, but all deliver the goods. They all seem tame next to the great-looking but unforgivably vulgar Cuddlesticks, a hilariously nasty bit of business, credited to an obvious total lunatic named Mike Geiger. And just when you've given up all hope for humanity comes a funny little absurdist gem like The Furious Little Cinnamon Bun to remind you why you ever liked twisted cartoons in the first place.

beat street 1984

i have a litle interview on the channel frederator blog today,
you can check it out here if you are feeling it.

also out today is an interview i did for VICE magazine about my "cuddle sticks" film. you can check it out here,
but be warned, its a little, ummm lets say "crude".
i guess no worse than the film itself,
but still...
sorry mom.

spike and mike vancouver

if anyone will be in vancouver this weekend, i have a film in the spike and mike festival that will be premiering this friday at the rio on broadway at commercial.
if anyone was interested in checking out the show, i hear they will be serving alcoholic beverages on opening night, so if you are into such things and are looking for a carrot to go, look no further.
ill be at the 9 oclock showing, as well as my mom, so feel free to say hi to either one of us.
hope to see you there!

mcdonalds

do schools still have mcdonalds day any more?
if not maybe they should,
cause it looks like they used to be a big "SECSSES"

there is "cuddle sticks" weird, and then there is "me as a child" weird

so i was going through some old boxes over the weekend and came across some drawings that i did when i was a child.
i found this one in particular to be a tad peculiar.
i would love to get a psychoanalysis of what this picture really represents, but it is odd because
A: i have lived in canada my entire life
B: ive never owned a bird or and empty bird cage
C: there is a big green monster with horns behind my head while i am trying to watch t.v.
and D: because i must of felt i necessary to write the words "THE END" on the t.v. set.

yikes...

county ghost episode 4

with a new month comes a new episode of the ol county ghost.
hope you enjoy it...

episode 4
"sent back, still fronting"

january...

as much as i hate to post nothing but an apology for not posting, january has been a moving month for me and painfully unproductive since my computer has been boxed up for the past week and half, with no unboxing foreseeable in the near future.
in any case, come february, ill be back, and happily rolling with this thing again, and even more happily, as a full time independent animator.
in the meantime, please enjoy an awesome drawing that my friend james made for me to commemorate the county ghost.

see y'all soon.
