star wars uncut

let me start by saying im not a crazy star wars fan, but this is just brilliant.

star wars uncut is a project where they have broken up the original movie into thousands of 15 second clips, which are downloadable by anyone who would like to take one and re-make it into their own version.

rough to clean process

i kinda hate to admit that my drawings start out this ugly, but ive been trying to do rough drawings on my cintiq lately instead of on paper just to cut out the scanning step. so its still looking a bit wacky up front, but there ya go, my rough drawings.

all cleaned up and broken into flash groups. if i could keep the final look this clean i would, my colors always seem to mess my stuff up and make it look all soft and goopy. oh well, cant escape who you are right?...right?



everything painted and layered on top of the bg. i really think the colors are just messy, but ive been trying my darndest lately to make my stuff more colorful. if you look at those youtube videos to the right, they are all kinda the same colors and shades, so...im attempting to expand my horizons here with a bunch of weird colors that i would never normally go near. although in the end, i think they somehow still kinda look like the others anyways...weird.



and heres the final animation. nothing too fancy. that "sucking" part is done pretty cheap, but since im trying to make this stuff in my free time, i would just never get anything done if i didnt allowing myself these kind of cheats to simply get through the shows in a reasonable time frame.
i try not to cheat in the wrong places to make it look too cheap, but in the long run, ive realized its better to have something done and released, than have something really fantastic and still unfinished on your hard drive. hope that makes some kind of sense.

the first looks to be an unfinished title page for something to do with bruce springsteen.
the second one is obviously a star wars drawing, but the thing that confuses me about this one, is that its drawn on some sort of court document.
if you click on it to make it bigger, you can see that there are spots for "the nature of the claim" and "default court judgment $"...
which brings up a whole slew of questions about when i got this from when i was in grade 1.

i was planning on throwing up a few drawings today, but my scanner has decided to start giving me some error messages about it not being found or something like this.
so instead, here is the third episode of our friendly chicken bone...
and dont worry,
i completely understand that this "joke" is absolutely terrible.
somehow it just got made anyways...

im happy to say that cuddle sticks was screened at the sydney international animation festival in their late night bizarre program earlier this week.

looks like theres also been a new wave of cuddle sticks reaction videos posted on youtube over the last few days. im sure you are getting a bit tired of these, but its still nice to see some people getting a kick out of it.

its been a while, but the next chapter of the county ghost is finally on the way.
and as you can tell,
this dude couldnt be more excited...

well i wasnt expecting this...

and im obviously flattered...
but still think it is very very strange...
