Here's a little project I was involved with for MAD TV called "The Green Care Bear". I did the animation on Hal (the more realistic looking guy of the bunch), which was meant to replicate a limited 1960's type style.

It appears the Star Wars Uncut project from back in 2010 has found some new legs thanks to the rights finally being cleared. Here are two links to sites that are featuring my little 15 second section. I cant read the ~~Dutch~~ German comment under my picture but when I ran it through the translator it came up with Animated scene from "Star Wars Uncut": Mike Geiger has filed this 15 seconds. He is a fan of the old "Star Wars" films - the new place he just horrible.

Turns out my little missing link character will be featured as part of the Pictoplasma Missing Link Research Exhibition at the Museum la Gaîté Lyrique in Paris this December. I printed up this drawing a little while ago and never ended up using it so thought I'd offer it to anyone who wants it. It's 16 X 20 and printed on a .75 inch canvas. It even comes framed! Just add a comment on this post, something like "Ill take it" or "yes please", and on Sunday (August 14th) I'll randomly choose one of the people who commented to send it to. I'll even pay the postage! What ya got to lose!

This is a little drawing that I did a while back with the intention of transferring onto a wall in my place by the front door. I even got a hold of a little projector, but just never found the time to get it done. The drawing turned out reminding me a lot of something that Scott Macdonald may of done in his earlier years, so I'm going to go ahead and thank him for the inspiration.

a little working update

A little update as to what I've been working on these days.

I just finished up working on season 3 of Jimmy Two Shoes.
I was somehow involved in it from design all the way through animation.
Can't say enough for working on a great looking show with some great people.

I'm midway through a production on a pilot for a cool children's show called "The Adventures of Napkin Man". The style is very "School House Rock" so it's been great fun to play with.

I'm also working on my first I-Phone game with a company called Industrial Bros.
I probably shouldn't say too much about this one until it's release, but here's a piece of a corner of a menu just to show it does actually exist.

I also just drew up a few ideas for "Cuddle Sticks 2" this weekend. I'm still undecided if it's a good or a bad idea to start crossing that bridge again. I guess we'll see how she pans out.

I wanted to try something different with the colors on this one but am still on the fence about if I like how they turned out or not, in any case, I've included the line art in case the color version is not your cup o' tea.

on march 7th, the spike and mike sick and twisted animation festival, which features my film cuddle sticks among many other wonderful films, will be playing in cineplex colossus and silvercity theaters across canada.
who knew my little film would be available to see on the big screen!
quite exciting.

Although admittedly a stretch for someone with a Himalayan background, I really wanted to name this fellow "Spaghetti".
But after some research, I found out that an explorer by the name of Reinhold Messner, who is renown for climbing the worlds 14 largest mountains (including the Himalayas) was none other than Italian, and it suddenly all made sense again.
Hence forth...."Spaghetti the Yeti"

this is my piece for the "mother goose gets animated" art show that was took place this weekend at the ottawa animation festival. the theme of the show was "nursery rhymes", so i chose "mother hubbard" for mine, which goes as follows:

And so the poor dog had none.

*just as a side note here, i have nothing against the idea of the actual "games" or the athletes themselves, i think they deserve all the respect in the world. just the ludicrous amount of money spent on hosting the games that i feel could be channeled into more meaningful avenues.
erecting a 9.2 million dollar temporary "canada" pavilion in a parking lot where people sleep seems mildly bizarre.

7) County Ghost - Episode 1 - Mike Geiger
AWNtv received four episodes of Geiger's wonderful classic-styled cartoon series, each of which is of equal quality. This Looney Tunes-inspired 2D cartoon finds a moonshiner blasting away at a ghost in his house. The premise is simple and sets up a series of wonderfully executed gags. This is a great example of how timing is so essential to humor in animation. The gags are no different than those in a Bugs Bunny cartoon, but they still make you laugh. Geiger's great design style only makes the animation all the more sweeter.

* update - well, seasons change, styles change, and so do plans.
so, due to some last minute re-scheduling, it looks like ill be moving on to another project other than the jimmy show.
its both a shame (cause jimmy is a killer show), and a positive (because ill be moving on to another production that is equally as great).
either way, im now officialy a resident of ottawa, and although a wee bit colder than vancouver (its says its -16 as i write this), im pretty excited to be here.

i told myself i would never let this blog go a week without a post, but im excited to say that ive been busy organizing a move to go work ~~on a fantastic show called jimmy two shoes with some super talented folk~~ out in ottawa.

let me start by saying im not a crazy star wars fan, but this is just brilliant.

star wars uncut is a project where they have broken up the original movie into thousands of 15 second clips, which are downloadable by anyone who would like to take one and re-make it into their own version.

the first looks to be an unfinished title page for something to do with bruce springsteen.
the second one is obviously a star wars drawing, but the thing that confuses me about this one, is that its drawn on some sort of court document.
if you click on it to make it bigger, you can see that there are spots for "the nature of the claim" and "default court judgment $"...
which brings up a whole slew of questions about when i got this from when i was in grade 1.

im happy to say that cuddle sticks was screened at the sydney international animation festival in their late night bizarre program earlier this week.

looks like theres also been a new wave of cuddle sticks reaction videos posted on youtube over the last few days. im sure you are getting a bit tired of these, but its still nice to see some people getting a kick out of it.
